Focus Features has taken global rights to Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov’s thriller Profile, which made its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in 2018 and won the Audience Award there. Profile follows an undercover British journalist in her quest to bait and expose a terrorist recruiter through social media, while trying not to be sucked in by her recruiter and lured into becoming a militant extremist herself. Profile stars Valene Kane (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery) and is inspired by the 2015 nonfiction bestseller In the Skin of a Jihadist by a French journalist who now has round-the-clock police protection and has changed her name to Anna Érelle.
Profile plays out entirely on a computer screen in the Screenlife format, pioneered by Bekmambetov. It was written by Britt Poulton (Them That Follow) and Bekmambetov and Olga Kharina. Bekmambetov and Kharina are producers under the Bazelevs banner with executive producers Adam Sidman and Maria Zatulovskaya from Bazelevs, Igor Tsay, Valerii An and Oleg Petrov from Interface Films and Rick Sobalvarro.
The Kazakh-Russian film director came to Hollywood’s attention with his 2004 Russian vampire franchise Night Watch, which spawned the 2006 sequel Day Watch. Bekmambetov’s first Hollywood directorial feature was Universal’s action pic Wanted starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman which was nominated for two Oscars and grossed $342.4 million at the worldwide box office. As a producer, Bekmambetov’s Screenlife title Unfriended was picked up by Universal and grossed about $65M worldwide off a $1M budget. He also produced the Debra Messing and John Cho feature Searching, which was picked up by Sony Pictures and grossed $75M on an even smaller budget.
Profile also played SXSW and won the Audience Award in 2018.

UKTV, one of Britain’s largest commercial broadcasters, has closed a major volume deal with ZDF Enterprises and its wholly owned subsidiary, Off the Fence. The deal will see UKTV acquire 40 hours of premium factual content for two of its specialist factual channels, Eden and Yesterday.
ZDF Enterprises’ new World War II history documentary, Frontlines (8 x 50′), produced by Impossible Factual Ltd will air on Yesterdayand Off the Fence’s own production, a nature series, Wild Edens (3 x 60′, 4K) is for Eden.
Global Acquisitions Manager Charlie Charalambous brokered the deal for UKTV and commented:

If they try a new approach, that may serve to infuriate fans since they’ve been asking for this show to pick up from where it left off since 2018.

At this year’s Canness Film Festival, the distribution rights of “Suzume no Tojimari” were acquired by Crunchyroll from TOHO excluding Asia. The negotiation took place under the supervision of Crunchyroll’s Chief Content Officer Asa Suehira, TOHO’s Akihiro Takeda, and Wild Bunch’s International CEO Vincent Maraval.
“Suzume no Tojimari” is scheduled to debut on November 11, 2022, in Japan and the distribution will be starting across the major territories worldwide from the early 2023. The distribution rights according to each company are as follows:
North America (Crunchyroll)
Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Many Portions of Europe (Crunchyroll & Sony Pictures)

Not to mention the echoes of Buckley’s calling repeating throughout the teaser adds to the unease.
A full-length trailer was released on March 23, 2022. Will Men Be Available on Streaming the Same Day as Theaters?

No, Men will not be available on streaming the day it hits theaters. As of this writing, there’s no word on when the movie is available on streaming.
However, A24, the movie’s distributor, has signed an exclusive output deal with Showtime Networks in late 2019 to stream and air all their non-Apple movies released theatrically through November 1, 2022. Therefore, Men is likely to appear on Showtime as well as its affiliated channels and streaming services sometime after it leaves theaters.
When Can You Watch Men on Blu-ray and VOD?
Men has not yet been given a Blu-ray or DVD release. However, movies are usually available on those platforms three to four months after hitting theaters, meaning that Men will likely come out on Blu-ray and DVD in either August 2022 or September 2022.

Four winners of the 2020-21 Student Short Film Showcase award, a collaboration between The Gotham, Focus Features, Jet Blue and the Westridge Foundation, are now streaming on Focus Features’s digital platforms as well as in the air on JetBlue’s inflight entertainment systems.
The films were chosen from the submissions of 16 film schools and represent a real diversity of subject matter and storytelling styles. In Edward Hancox’s (University of Texas, Austin) cleverly conceived and sharply acted Things That Happen in the Bathrooma bathroom, typically a place of privacy and solitude, becomes the site of complicated relationship dynamics between a young man and his new hookup. Emotionally affecting and with astonishing visual style, No Law, No Heaven is a decades-spanning drama about love and regret by Kristi Hoi (University of California Los Angeles) set within Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City. Set largely during one day on the streets of New York City, the sharply observant Cousinsby Mandy Marcus (Brooklyn College) is a strong and subtle tale of two cousins from a Caribbean-American family experiencing the dynamics of each other’s lives in the afternoon following a family funeral. From Temple University and set amidst one hot suburban summer, Molly Sorensen’s skillful and wonderfully acted Mud & Honey is about the friendship and repressed romance between two teenage girls on the edge of a major decision. A fifth winning film, Anitaby Sushma Khadepaun (Columbia University), will screen at a later date.
About the program, now in its second year, The Gotham Executive Director Jeffrey Sharp said in a press release, “We are thrilled, not only by the high quality stories coming from daring and innovative students, but by the strong partnership we found for a second year with Focus Features and JetBlue, and for the first time with the Westridge Foundation. The Gotham exists to champion underrepresented voices and this program does just that in bringing together forward thinking creators and industry partners.”

The jury picking the winning films consisted of Caroline von Kühn (Director of Catalyst, Sundance), Ina Pira (Curator, Vimeo), and Ron Simons (Independent Producer of Film and Theater). Opal H. Bennett (Co-Producer, American Documentary | POV) was the initiative’s project lead, and Shelby Rachleff (Program Manager, Westridge Foundation) co-led the jury selection and development of the project selection process.

About three months ahead of its Disney+ debut, Marvel Studios delivered the first full look at Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo in the official trailer for She-Hulk. Part of what makes this series such a game-changer for the MCU is that it’s the first project, streaming or theatrical, to feature a leading character brought to life with as much CGI as Jennifer Walters. Even considering how much digital work Marvel Studios uses on most of its projects, which has increased in Phase 4, another giant green monster of a heroine is certainly a big endeavor for the ever-successful MCU.

While fans have already made their feelings known on some of that VFX work, Marvel is delivering a larger-than-life character who boasts nearly the same size as her counterpart in Ruffalo’s Hulk yet with notably less muscle. A recent social media post suggests that the VFX team had another challenge to work through during the development process.
Marvel Requested for She-Hulk to be “Smaller”
VFX artist Sean Ruecroft took to Twitter to share some of the developments behind She-Hulk’s look on-screen in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Disney+ series.

In response to a Tweet that seemed to criticize the muscular size of She-Hulk in the recent She-Hulk trailer (sharing the above image with the caption “When the character creator doesn’t let you make buff women”), Ruecroft indicated that the 6-foot, 7-inch tall character had a more muscular build earlier in the process. That is, until the Marvel Studios creative team emphasized to the visual effects team to “make her smaller” multiple times in the process:

“I was at a company that did VFX for this. Apparently she was bigger early on, but the notes kept saying to ‘make her smaller.’ We always roll our eyes (like we did on Sonic) but at the end of the day artists gotta follow orders.”
Ruecroft was also a VFX artist on 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and the recently-released Moon Knight.
How Muscular Was She-Hulk Originally?

Getting the sizing right on characters that are developed fully through CGI is always a difficult task, especially some of the bigger ones like Vin Diesel’s Groot or Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Even with a reference point for She-Hulk in a similar character like the Hulk, going so heavy-handed in the VFX department gave the team on this show a new set of issues to work with.
The biggest question that comes from these quotes: how much more muscular was She-Hulk before the footage that fans saw in the first trailer?

Kevin Feige described the character as being “well over 6’7” in his initial description from Disney+ Day 2020, whereas the Hulk is anywhere from seven to eight feet tall in his appearances. This likely changed and ultimately settled into something consistent when Bruce Banner figured out his Smark Hulk persona, letting Marvel Studios work off that as a baseline for where to put She-Hulk.
At the moment, it’s still unclear why the studio and the VFX department had some discrepancies on the character’s size, although fans may never find out the real reasons behind those issues. The only hope is that her height doesn’t take away from the suspension of disbelief in the show as a whole, especially as the CGI continues to develop until the series arrives in full.
