Cardiologists recall that due to a higher risk of myocarditis, it is preferable to refrain from sports within 7 days of a positive test for Covid-19 or a dose of vaccine.

It has now been proven: after infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the risk of developing myocarditis (i.e. inflammation of part of the heart muscle or myocardium) is higher.

On the same subject

Myocarditis is found in around 1 case of Covid in 10,000, that’s a lot, notes Dr. Alexandre Duparc, cardiologist at the University Hospital Center (CHU) in Toulouse., interviewed by our colleagues from The Dispatch. It also seems that myocarditis due to Covid-19 is more serious than that induced by other viruses, with more frequent complications.

Faced with this risk, the French Society of Cardiology wanted to recall a common sense measure: after an infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, it is preferable to refrain from playing sports for (at least) 7 days. .

Risk of myocarditis: avoid sport after an infection or vaccination

Do not exercise when you have a fever, body aches or joint pain is one of the ten golden rules to avoid cardiovascular accidents and myocarditis“says the specialist.

In detail, cardiologists recommendexclude “moderate to intense” physical activity (running, fitness, cycling, hiking…in a club or solo, for example) for at least 7 days after a positive test for Covid-19, even without symptoms. In case of palpitations, chest pain or shortness of breath, it is imperative to seek medical advice before resuming sporting activity.

This cautionary advice also applies in the post-vaccination period against Covid-19: thus, in November 2021, a vast study carried out by Health Insurance and the ANSM had confirmed an increased risk of myocarditis, in particular in under 30 vaccinated with Moderna.

April 15, 1989, semi-final of the FA Cup. Liverpool meet Nottingham Forrest, at Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield. Thousands of fans – some without tickets – are delayed by traffic jams. The request to postpone the kick-off is refused. The match started when the “Scousers” were allowed to enter the enclosure. Joy rushes them to the center of the already crowded Leppings Lane stand. 96 Liverpool supporters, aged 14 to 67, will not return home, crushed and trampled against the railings. 97 lives taken, since the death in 2021 of Andrew Devine, whose brain damage was irreversible.

And how many others demolished? Anne Williams is one of these “collateral victims” as Kevin Sampson told the British daily The Guardian.

Kevin Sampson survived Hillsborough. He is the screenwriter of “Anne”, a drama series broadcast since the beginning of January on ITV (1), a public channel in the United Kingdom. It pays tribute to the heroism of Anne Williams in her quest for the truth about the death of her “little boy”. Kevin Daniel Williams is the penultimate name engraved on the memorial. At the end of the line, two numbers: 15 years.

Anne’s battles

The four one-hour episodes tell of the unspeakable pain of losing a child. The first doubts about the police versions, contradictory. The emotional fight – Steve will leave the marital home as Anne was obsessed with the quest for truth. The physical fight, too: Anne will attend, weakened in a wheelchair, but with a striking dignity, the conclusions of the independent report which will finally say in 2012 the gaping shortcomings of the police; and who will say, too, that 47 fans could have been saved. She will die of cancer in 2013.

The four one-hour episodes tell of the unspeakable pain of losing a child.

Paul’s hand brushes the memorial. His cousin is one of the survivors: fans from the upper stand hoisted him up at arm’s length. “I come to say a little prayer at every game,” said his mother. “Imagine, if 97 police officers had died…”. Anger transpires. A few seconds later, their voices intone “You’ll never walk alone”.

At “The Arkles” pub, which adjoins Anfield, Amelie and Colin “stream” the match on a mobile phone, rigged over an empty pint. They live here but they no longer go to the stadium: getting tickets has become too complicated. “Anne Williams was so strong. What woman ! I cried” said Amelie in her delicious Scouse accent. She is not the only one: empathy pierces the small screen, through the prodigious performance of actress Maxine Peake. Colin hasn’t watched the show yet. Too hard.

Injustice, anger and tears

Liverpool dominate Brentford 3-0. The ritual resumes. A woman lays down a Brentford scarf. Tim undulates between portraits, straddles flowers and a “Grandad” crown. He kisses the cold wall. “It shouldn’t have happened.” He has no more words. There is no need. He puts his hand on his heart. It was almost 33 years ago. It was almost yesterday. The injustice can be read in the eyes which fill with tears, often, again.

Photos in front of the memorial proliferate, immediately posted on Instagram. Paul regrets this indecency. He is bruised, too, by the odious chants of certain opposing supporters, as in Shrewsbury in mid-January during a Cup match.

In the wake of the series, a campaign is campaigning for a “Hillsborough Law”: a law that includes 25 measures to ensure that such an injustice does not happen again, such as easier access to seasoned lawyers. The call is made by bereaved families and high-ranking politicians. Paul does not believe in it, or no longer. “We will never get justice. The justice system in this country always protects those in positions of power: the police, the politicians or the FA (the Federation).” David Duckenfield, head of security on April 15, 1989, was found not guilty of gross negligence homicide, in 2019.

The bars filled up, the stadium emptied, the sky turned pink and the cold snapped. Steve, steward’s yellow vest on his back, meditates for long seconds, alone. He’s a fan of Everton, the other club in town, but the club stewards work together.

“There is of course the rivalry but Hillsborough has brought us closer.” “Anne” is so poignant. The series brought us together again. And young people who were not born in 1989 will carry this story.

The health crisis and confinements have changed many of our habits. Developers of health and wellness apps have benefited greatly.

While the Covid 19 pandemic has had a negative impact on many parts of the economy, it has stimulated others. And in particular the economy of mobile applications. Due to successive lockdowns, we spent more time in front of our screens, and app developers took advantage of this opportunity.

App Annie, a company specializing in mobile data analysis, has taken a look at the health and well-being sector. In his report State of Mobile 2022, she tells us that downloads of health and fitness applications have increased from 565 million to 811 million during the second quarter of 2020.

A date which coincides with the closing of the sports halls. According to the study, the total number of downloads rose to 2.48 billion in 2021, compared to 1.97 billion in 2019. While these figures have stabilized since then, the general trend is clearly towards growth at the start of this period. year 2022.

While fitness has been hugely popular for several years now, it is the meditation sector that has benefited the most from the crisis. The successive confinements have naturally revived the debate on mental health, the opportunity for these applications to find a new audience. Calm, Headspace, Meditopia, Insight Timer… So many names that have become familiar to Internet users.

For example, the Calm and Headspace applications alone generated $205 million in 2021. During the crisis, Insight Timer recorded the largest average time spent per session among users. The outlook for the sector looks bright.

App Annie’s report lets you discover the most downloaded apps in each country. Unsurprisingly, the one (related to health) that sits in first place with us is TousAntiCovid.

Different activities according to age

The demographic differences are quite marked. Health and fitness applications have particularly appealed to millennials (or Generation Y). In 2021, they are the main users of this type of app, all regions combined.

We also learn that Generation X and baby boomers are more oriented towards so-called “self-quantification” applications: pedometers, diet or hiking aids, for example.

Generation Z, younger (late 90s to today), is more focused on women’s well-being and health. This last sector, called “femtech”, is growing rapidly. There are, among other things, applications to follow your menstrual cycle in order to know the date of your next period and your ovulation period.

This generation is particularly targeted by developers. She is more reactive to outings and does not hesitate to try new concepts. It is therefore she who should define the major trends in the sector in the years to come.

For you, biathlon is a sport that is practiced on skis, with a rifle in the back, a jumpsuit with a customs sticker and a neon ad for cheese, and at the end, a Frenchman raising his arms on the finish line, all filmed in mondovision? This is partly correct, but we come a long way. A quick look back, on the occasion of the start of the biathlon events at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Saturday February 5, where the blue squad led this year by Emilien Jacquelin and Anaïs Chevalier-Boucher feeds golden ambitions, with the hope of doing as well as in 2014 (4 medals) or 2018 (5).

If the biathlon has been tested at the Olympic Games since those of Chamonix in 1924, under the name of “military skiing”, it was in the 1960s that it obtained its napkin ring at the Olympic table. To give you an idea of the misery, the discipline was then overseen by the Modern Pentathlon Federation. The French team at the Squaw Valley Games was made up at the time… of the worst cross-country skiers. They discover their weapons a few days before the event. “Choosing biathlon rather than cross-country skiing was a downgrade”, smiles Yvon Mougel, a pioneer of the discipline in France in the 1970s. “We were shooting with weapons of war, the targets were 150 m away [soit trois fois plus loin qu’aujourd’hui]. I’ve already left a brow bone with the recoil of the rifle. In 1972, the special envoy of the World at the Olympics writes that biathlon “does not seem to us to have to appear (…) within a plethoric Olympic program”.

Who says niche sport says system D, says Yvon Mougel. The workout: “I was setting up cardboard targets in a quiet place.” Arms : “We ended up recovering Soviet equipment, Vostoks. We tampered with the butts so that they were lighter. And theCartridges were horribly expensive. We drew 20 per session, maximum. Les sponsors : “I had to pass the customs officer competition, we had no choice to be part of the France team.” Finally, the competitions: “For the French championship in Les Saisies (Savoie) in 1984, the resort management did not want us to disturb the tourists. We had to go to a place accessible only by ski, 2 km from the ski area. However, I had just finished fourth in the Sarajevo Games and had my picture featured in one of ‘The Magazine Team’.”

The Albertville Games of 1992, scene of the triumph of the women’s blue relay, could have gradually installed biathlon in the landscape. Corn “I had to do three TVs after my gold medal, and I went back to my mountains to train in a parking lot in the summer”, says Corinne Niogret, a figure in the discipline during this decade.

“It was always in Germany that I was recognized in the street, never in France.”

Corinne Niogret

at franceinfo

The recognition of sponsors will also take time to arrive, says Yves Perret, author of the book The Great Hours of Nordic Skiing in France (ed. The Book Lovers). “In 1994, when the women’s relay won a bronze medal at the Lillehammer Games, the torchbearers received a check for 125 francs (about 20 euros) each, in an envelope, from their pole supplier. purely and simply returned.”

The biathlon of the 1990s still smells very strongly of mothballs. “I remember the 1993 world championship in Borovets, Bulgaria, with deplorable coverage, says Marc Mingoia, voice of biathlon on Eurosport for twenty years. Two cameras, all in all. We saw the teams shooting, going skiing in the forest and for 10 minutes, we had nothing in the image.” At the time, few media send journalists to cover these competitions. “We were three, account Marc Mingoia. Me,L’Equipe’ and ‘Le Dauphiné Liberated’.” Hence the fact that biathlon is the subject of completely crazy advertisements playing on the ignorance of the public, like this spot from the cable channel 13e Rue which ends in a general shooting…

The arrival in the foreground of Raphaël Poirée, at the end of the 1990s, still did not unlock the popularity of the discipline in France. His character doesn’t necessarily help. “On the wall of a bar in Pokljuka in Slovenia, a mecca for biathlon, there are all the caricatured stars with a big smile, describes Marc Mingoia. All, except one: Poirée who pulls the face. On the other hand, the professionalism of the Isérois pushes the French biathlon into another dimension. It was he who was on the run after the fiasco of the Nagano Olympics in Japan in 1998. The Norwegian technicians had spent a year on site to analyze the snow in its smallest crystals, when the French had played it at the ‘economy. For the last time.

From then on, the status of biathletes was dusted off. End of the obligation to pass the customs examination, up to the status of contract worker. Even today, five of the 35 athletes supported by customs are biathletes. “I was very happy to receive these 1,500 euros per month to practice my sport, smiles Jean-Guillaume Béatrix, who hung up the rifle in 2018. I found that incredible. I felt like I was living very well. It is thanks to this status that I was able to buy an apartment. I never needed to look for a job to be financially independent.”

“We continue to maintain the legend that biathlon is a customs sport”, smiles François Simond, the boss of the French customs team. In particular thanks to the customs tournament, annual high mass, at the beginning of March, which begins with a parade in uniform. Nevertheless, this image of Epinal of heroic times tends to disappear. “Customs sport? It’s been five or six since I last heard it”, laughs the ex-biathlete Alexis Bœuf, now a consultant on the L’Equipe channel, broadcaster of the World Cup.

If today, this channel exceeds one million enthusiasts throughout the winter by broadcasting the races in clear, this success is the culmination of a process of two decades. “I was elected to the IBU Athletes’ Commission [la fédération internationale de biathlon] to enhance the show”, says Hervé Flandin, Olympic medalist in 1994 before hanging up three years later. “Long before tennis or F1, we took into account the comments of the broadcasters to improve the show. No more endless walks in the forest, time penalties that must be deducted on arrival, and time trial tunnels that make the race incomprehensible to ordinary mortals. “Shorter races, one hour, including the podium, with direct confrontations and the winner who is often the one who crosses the finish line first.”

Biathlon: Unstoppable Fourcade

Add to this, during the 2010 decade, the explosion of a Martin Fourcade far more gifted in communication than his predecessors, and the arrival of World Cup events in France, in Le Grand-Bornand.. Here is the biathlon finally installed in the landscape. Martin Fourcade, five-time Olympic champion, finds himself propelled to the rank of favorite sportsman of the French in 2020, ahead of Kylian Mbappé. “Between the time I started and the time I stopped, my sport changed status, illustrates Jean-Guillaume Béatrix. We have created a position of press officer dedicated to biathlon at the ski federation. It was all new to us.”

The rise of biathlon is not limited to the snowy peaks. If the Montesson club, in the Yvelines, created in the 1990s, is a pioneer, other more recent initiatives have emerged. In Brittany, Maël Croyal watches over the club of Surzur, a Morbihan town of 4,500 inhabitants. “We had to refuse people this year”, smiles the one who takes his flock to roller ski and shoot with laser rifles, more general public than .22 Long Rifle.

“I receive calls from parents who tell me that their son plays Martin Fourcade every weekend in their garden.”

Mael Croyal

at franceinfo

Among the curious eager to develop biathlon near their home, Clémentine Clerc, PE teacher in Lambersart, near Lille, who created her biathlon section for her 5th graders. “It is possible to practice it in a sports hall for 28 students in winter, and without snow, smiles this native of Cambrai. We share the rifles, we do 30 seconds of abs to replace the penalty laps.” Main feat of arms of this ch’tie biathlon section, a chance meeting with Martin Fourcade during a school trip to Villard-de-Lans (Isère), who dedicated an improvised class photo to each one. “My former students still tell me about it.”

It remains to shake up mentalities at the highest level, on the political side. Not always an easy task, testifies Axel Martin-Garrin, director of the Nœux-les-Mines ski club (Pas-de-Calais), which also offers a biathlon section. “There are only former footballers in the bodies to which we ask for a subsidy! The first year, I obtained 5,000 euros for my 100 licensees, when the football club of the city, 300 players, scratched 35,000! Football vampirizes everything here…”

On the sporting side, biathlon has understood the interest of getting out of its snowpack. “When we wanted to set up shooting training for our supervisors, the federation sent us Franck Badiou [ancien tireur professionnel, devenu coach des équipes de France de biathlon]. Just that !, exclaims Maël Croyal. He stayed a weekend in Vannes to train us.” Sign of the change in this sport, the thinking heads of the infrastructures are now thinking of shooting ranges adapted to pros and neophytes. “There is almost a conflict of use, underlines Hervé Flandin, who became a consultant for the firm Abest Ingénierie, which designed the launch pad for the Beijing Olympics, among others. The goal, in the long term, is to install stadiums in most major cities, including in the plain, so that we can practice it in all seasons.

For many experts, a failure at the Beijing Games, or even a tricolor generation gap in the medium term, will not affect this growing passion. Like Alexis Bœuf, consultant on the L’Equipe channel: “Before, people watched Martin Fourcade. Now they watch biathlon!”

";}s:7:"summary";s:74:"For you, biathlon is a sport that is practiced on skis, with a rifle in...";s:12:"atom_content";s:13033:"

Mael Croyal

Martinez package, Fomba incertain. At the start of the afternoon, coach Nicolas Usaï appeared at a press conference the day before seeing Nîmes Olympique (8th, 32 pts) receive the relegated Dunkirk (19th, 18 pts) on behalf of the 23rd day of Ligue 2, tomorrow at 7 p.m. To try to get a fourth consecutive victory since his arrival, the Marseillais will have to do without his captain Martinez, touched in Pau. “His knee is still swollen. It would have taken 48 more hours for him to play. It’s too short, we don’t take risks”, says his coach who will also not be able to count on him for next week’s trip to Caen because Pablo will be suspended. Besides the defender, Briançon and Cubas, who has not yet resumed collective training, are sure to be absent. On the other hand, uncertainty reigns around Fomba. Suspended during Tuesday’s victory at Pau (0-3), the midfielder received a blow on Wednesday in training. A decision on his participation will be taken after this afternoon’s session. “He will only be in the group if he is 100%”, assures Nicolas Usaï. Returning from selection where he did not play, Ueda is available just like Mbow, qualified for this meeting. These two men are in balance for a starting place in central defense alongside Guessoum. The other recruit, Sadzoute, should also be summoned.

The probable group: Bratveit, Dias – Burner, Guessoum, Mbow, Paquiez, Ueda, Sainte-Luce, Sadzoute – Delpech, Eliasson, Ponceau, Sarr, Valerio, Benrahou – Doucouré, Koné, Omarsson.

The probable eleven: Bratveit – Paquiez, Guessoum, Ueda or Mbow, Sainte-Luce – Delpech, Sarr – Benrahou, Ponceau, Eliasson – Koné.

“We have a meeting on Monday. » While the transfer window ended on Monday, Zinedine Ferhat has not found a new club and will therefore have to complete his contract with the Crocos until June 30. Appeared that on seven occasions this season, the Algerian international had clearly expressed his desire to leave the club. But the fact that he is still there and the arrival of a new coach could reshuffle the cards. In any case, this will be the subject of Monday’s discussion between the main interested party and his coach Nicolas Usaï. The latter should know whether or not he can count on the striker for the end of the season. “The important thing in these cases is to be transparent and honest”, comments the Gard technician (see video above). In the meantime, “Zinou” sharpens individually in the company of the physical trainer, Aurélien Boche. The ball therefore appears to be in the player’s court. If Ferhat decides to invest in the last five months, he could be an additional recruit for Nîmes.

Ask for the program! If last week, all the matches of the Gard clubs competing in N3 had been postponed, this weekend everyone is playing. Sunday, Aigues-Mortes, third, goes at 2:30 p.m. to his first pursuer, the Rodez reserve. Finally at 4 p.m., Beaucaire welcomes the leader Agde. A success of the SB 30 could allow the Cévennes to regain the lead in the championship in the event of success on Saturday. In women’s football, the girls of Nîmes metropolis have the opportunity to take a big step towards maintaining D2 in the event of victory this Sunday at 1 p.m., at the Annexe des Costières, facing the red lantern Mérignac.

The Dane is relegated to tenth place, 51 seconds behind the new leader. Note, less than 10 km from the goal, the downhill falls of Carapaz and Mendez, out of danger. A contract which perpetuates the exchanges until 2024, with many common actions to add to the agenda of the Nîmes. A first association of the two entities gave rise, on October 2, 2021, to an auction of rugby shirts which raised €25,899 for the benefit of wounded soldiers in the Army. The next meeting will take place on Sunday March 13, 2022, at the Kaufmann stadium, where events and stands presenting military equipment will be set up during the meeting between the locals and Pamiers.

A healthy mind in a healthy body from an early age. This is the challenge that the municipality of Ville-d’Avray (Hauts-de-Seine) wants to take up with its primary school pupils. This Friday morning, the city officially launched its daily physical activity program, at the Ronce school, then at Jean-Rostand.

From now on, for 650 primary school pupils in the town, fifteen minutes of physical and sporting activities will take place every school day, during the lunch break, from 1:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The extracurricular animators will be in charge of the accompaniment. A local and unprecedented initiative to date in the Hauts-de-Seine, according to the municipal team of Ville-d’Avray, which is part of the extension of the Terre de Santé program, launched by the city last November. .

The boss of the UNSS Olivier Girault, sponsor of the operation

There were also many elected officials presented at the start of this operation, this Friday morning. But it was above all the 2008 Olympic handball champion and director of the National Union of School Sports (UNSS), Olivier Girault, who made a strong impression on the students. “It’s an act of common sense, which will lead to sustainable good practices. I am delighted to sponsor this project, says the former international, who lives in Ville-d’Avray. It’s something very concrete, to encourage our children to move. »

The new director of the UNSS, Olivier Girault, Olympic handball champion in Beijing in 2008, is the sponsor of Terre de Santé in Ville-d’Avray. He symbolically lit the flame with two students from La Ronce school. LP/AC

Two students from La Ronce accompanied him to symbolically light an artificial Olympic flame. The students then joined the courtyard for the first quarter of an hour of physical activity of the program. The children first sang a song specially composed for the occasion, on the theme of the Olympic Games, before starting a giant choreography.

Very energetic during this flashmob, the students seemed to get caught up in the game, visibly stimulated by the presence of Olivier Girault, who was cheered on for a long time and stormed to ask for autographs.

“My eldest daughter has started eating vegetables again”

Upstream, throughout the month of January, the Ville-d’Avray “Terre de Santé” expert, Jean-Claude Coubard, visited the classrooms to make children aware of good practices: “eat well, hydrate, move well”. The impact of this campaign has been very positive, according to the parents of the students. “My children were all very motivated to adopt new reflexes, rejoices Delphine, who came to attend the premiere. My eldest daughter has started eating vegetables again, this is excellent coaching! »

Because this physical activity program should allow children to acquire the right reflexes as soon as possible to fight against a sedentary lifestyle and promote their well-being. “There is no specific sport that will be offered to children. We will touch a bit of everything, to make all the parts of the body work, explains Antoine Furno. The idea is that students can become aware of their bodies and talk about their activity to their parents, to initiate them in turn. »

“We have everything you need here to move well and combine pleasure, well-being and health, using your legs for a walk in the forest or on a bike”, summarizes the mayor (DVD) Aline de Marcillac, who hopes that this initiative will spread elsewhere in the department.

Shoes in exchange for a sports field. Decathlon and Adidas have launched “Collectives”, a major operation across France. Objective: to collect 25,000 pairs of shoes across France in order to recycle them and then create a sports field, can we read on the site of Sports Strategies. The operation runs until February 25.

The Decathlon brand offers everyone the opportunity to drop off their used pairs of shoes in one of its 330 stores. All types of shoes are accepted except crampons. Each sneaker, moccasin or boot will then undergo the same treatment: they will be transported to be sorted, recycled and transformed. Sports Strategies thus explains that their textile part will be sent to the recycling sector while the sole will be crushed, in a French company, and transformed into a floor covering.

It is precisely this coating that will then be used in the construction of the sports field, planned for the summer of 2022. Decathlon and Adidas thus want to develop a new material made 100% from the recycling of shoes.

We do not yet know in which city this new space will be located, but Decathlon and Adidas have planned to give pride of place to so-called “mainly female” activities such as dance or fitness, which are not easily accessible outside the paying rooms. In a press release, the brand specializing in sports accessories explains that only 15% of users of sports facilities in public spaces are women. In question ? The majority of sports grounds in France are geared towards team sports such as football or basketball, mostly played by boys and men.

With “Collectives”, Adidas and Decathlon want to allow everyone to have access to safe and inclusive spaces. And to convey this message, “Collectives” has a five-star ambassador: Cléopâtre Darleux, goalkeeper of the French handball team and Olympic champion.

“The initiative is important to encourage young girls and young women to practice sport. I would have loved to have access to infrastructures like this and I am convinced that it will help to create new vocations. »

A member of the Grayloise association in Haute-Saône, the young woman spotted her cancer herself in 2019. After having had both breasts removed, then her uterus and ovaries, she says today held on thanks to sport. Coach of a football team in the Vosges, she drew on the field the energy to face operations, fatigue, and to accept her body, upset.

Recommended mammography after 50, Angélique from Abreu didn’t wait for her, she preferred to take the lead. In August 2019, the 34-year-old young woman perceived a lump under her left breast. This self-palpation, it owes nothing to chance. Originally from Besançon (Doubs), Angélique is a member of Grayloise, an association from Haute-Saône which organizes sporting events in support of people with cancer. The threat, she knew it. Sensitized to this risk, she is all the more aware of what awaits her. She agreed to testify to her story, on February 4, World Cancer Day.

This head start on the disease, on breast cancer, will perhaps allow him to gain a little time. However, very quickly, the diagnosis falls. She had her left breast removed a month later. “Obviously it was difficult, she recalls. It was followed by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, the body is tired. »

Installed in the Vosges for a few years, Angélique de Abreu then coaches a junior football team in Cheniménil, her village. She is a coach of young players in the U11 category. “I did training once a week and matches on Saturdays”. A life punctuated by heavy treatment, with chemotherapy and one radiation session per week. “She was coming out of chemo, going to the stadium to train her team”, testifies with admiration Maria Charton, her aunt, president of the Grayloise association, who has followed her niece’s fight from the start. Combative in the field, persuasive with her youngsters, Angélique will have to be even more so with herself.

When I was in chemo, everything that is daily I had a lot of trouble. The first three made me lose my hair and eyelashes, made me lose my appetite. The body is very tired, we sleep a lot. And it’s hard to get up, you feel like you have aches all over. What was hardest was accepting that I no longer had breasts. It was above all the image of myself that I had trouble dealing with.

In August 2020, the disease worsens: “We learned that it was a genetic cancer, which could go elsewhere. » She is told that she is going to have to have her right breast removed, but also, as a preventive measure, her uterus and ovaries. The pandemic is raging, and Angélique faces it doubly: “Because of covid, my operation has been rescheduled three times. » In October 2021, her right breast was removed.

What stuck with me was that when she left the hospital after her removal, she was in the stadium. She wanted to show that she was stronger than that bitch.

Maria Charton, president of the Grayloise association

Then, on January 18, 2022, the hysterectomy and oophorectomy were finally carried out, when precancerous cells had reached the cervix. “It was quite a relief to have them taken away from me. It’s as if I had a knife above my head that could fall. » Mother of 3 children, the young woman was not afraid of losing any possibility of having any, quite the contrary: “I wanted to see my children grow up, so I didn’t want new chemo. »

Just released from the hospital at the start of 2022, Angélique De Abreu may not have overcome her illness, it is still too early to say, she confides. “It feels good, we tell ourselves that we have turned another page. Normally it’s over, I hope to see the end soon enough. »

The end of the tunnel, Angelique has at least reached it on the sports table. In September 2021, despite all the daily difficulties that cancer imposes on her, the trainer realizes a small dream, to set up her own team, the senior women’s team of Cheniménil. “What allowed me to hold on was being part of the Grayloise office, it’s my family. But above all, what allowed me to escape is football, I am the leader of a women’s team in my village, I also play, that’s what allowed me to get out. » On the pitch, she’s the one who dribbled the disease, she’s the one who scores points, she’s the one who puts cancer out of play: “For me, I was not sick, I forgot the disease. »

In tune with cancer, her reminiscences and her long medical follow-up, Angélique De Abreu lives with football, her escape. “There is training twice a week, Saturday match and Sunday, bar, so I’m always at football on weekends”, she smiles. His team obviously follows all his events closely, especially operations. “I did not hide from the start, they knew it. When I went to the hospital, it was messages of support, of encouragement. It feels good to feel them behind me like I am behind them on the pitch. »

“It’s a beautiful lesson in courage, in life, s’ébahit Maria Charton. I never saw her sad, depressed, she was moving forward, as if the cancer did not exist. It was stunning. It’s like she’s in denial but actually not at all. »

Angelique De Abreu looks to the future with hope today, and her cancer, with a form of fatality. “Now he is part of my life. I’m not going to say he’s a friend, but it’s something that’s part of me, I have to tolerate it. » To all those who are going through cancer, the young woman wishes to convey this message: “You have to stay positive, never get discouraged, move forward, listen to your body, never give up, even if sometimes it’s hard, I admit that. »

Following training, Angélique De Abreu opened her own business in December 2021, she settled at home as a nail technician. After having taken care of her for a long time, the opportunity, finally, to take care of others?

In support of all people with cancer, Angélique will, in any case and like every year, be on the starting line of the Grayloise race on March 13, 2022.

This story, her story, Angélique de Abreu testifies to it in a podcast, linked above.

Grégory Bakian began his career in motorsport. Present alongside big names in the car industry such as Jules Bianchi, Romain Grosjean or Sebastian Vettel, Grégory Bakian then turned to football, passing through the young teams of Nice and Marseille. Much later, Grégory Bakian also held an advisory position with the Hombourg-Haut club, a Regional 3 club, eliminated in the 32nd round against Prix-lès-Mézières (3-0) in the Coupe de France. . Always very attached to sport, it is today a singing career that Grégory Bakian follows. Alsa’Sports went to meet him.

Can you introduce yourself ?

My name is Gregory Bakian. I was born in Marseille but I grew up mainly in Nice and then in Paris for reasons related to my musical career. I also did high-level sport, mainly in motorsport and karting. I was PACA karting league champion in 2003, double finalist in the French Karting Cup in 2002 and 2003, 3 times finalist in the French championship in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and I had to participate in the European formula championship BMW in Germany in 2004 (now Formula 4). Unfortunately, I had to stop motorsport that same year for financial reasons. I also had the chance to be invited in 2013 to the ANDROS trophy, an electric ice race. Then I did 7 years of football in youth categories until under 17 in Nice and Marseille and then I passed my first coaching degrees and first federal coaching degrees. I have the first cycle of the state patent option football and I worked for 2 years in the Mediterranean football league between 2005 and 2007.

Precisely, how do you go from high level sport to song?

It’s a passion that was born at the age of 12-13. My mother listened to the musical on repeat Notre Dame of Paris at the time with the beautiful songs that we know. Then I started rapping, for fun. I then won the program “Graine de star” at the age of 16 in the official casting organized by M6. I was not supposed to take part in this competition and it was a childhood friend, Jonathan Wisniewski, a professional rugby player who notably worked for Racing Métro 92, Lyon, Toulon and Stade Toulousain, who registered me. He was my best friend at the time. He signed me up for this casting somewhat against my will and I ended up winning the official casting.

I won the final in front of 500 participants and a crowd of 7000 people. It was a click and pushed me to invest myself even more in the song. It’s also from there that I got my first fees as they say, my first payments, my first work contracts and I started to want to make it my job since unfortunately I had to stop a sport in which I had good results, very good results even. A sport where I rubbed shoulders with boys like Jules Bianchi who was my childhood friend (note: died in 2015), an immense automotive hope, and Sebastian Vettel with whom I had the opportunity to drive in 2001. I was part of of the fastest French drivers of my generation, that is to say the 87-88 generation. I was with Romain Grosjean, Jules Banchi, and all that generation.

You are produced by the former 98 world champion, Emmanuel Petit, how did you meet?

Yes absolutely, I am co-produced by Emmanuel Petit. We met at a charity football match for an association in the Paris region that helps young people in difficulty in the neighborhoods. We had a match where Emmanuel Petit was present with other athletes and media personalities. Then there was a private show-case in a fairly prestigious venue in Paris where I sang my first single “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”. Emmanuel Petit was touched by the lyrics of this song which addresses the theme of resilience and never giving up. There are hardships that we can all go through in our lives.

He first congratulated me for the interpretation then he told me that he would come to see me in concert soon. I was performing in a school hall on the trails in Paris and Emmanuel Petit had kept his word, which is rare to be underlined. He came to see me and then one thing led to another and we had a friendship that was forged. Subsequently, Emmanuel Petit invested in our label and therefore became one of my co-producers.

What is your musical universe?

My first EP, which was released in 2013, was more French pop-rock variety. There, we completely changed musical direction with this new single « Changer ». We are more in a pop-electro color inspired by bands like Imagine Dragons, One Republic or Coldplay. More current sounds, more pop, more energetic, a little more “happy” and less melancholy. Before, it was more inspired by artists like Pascal Obispo or Florent Pagny. Here we are on a younger audience. Besides, we were selected on NRJ. My clip was in the selection of the month of December on NRJ hit and NRJ 12. Obviously for me it is a small consecration because to manage to enter the television channels as an independent favorite is exceptional. I think it’s been more than 15 years since an independent artist fell in love with the NRJ 12 channels. 99.9% of the places are artists from Universal, Sony, big houses of discs which have the hand put on the industry, the musical sites, the various chains and musical radios.

Tell me about your experience as an advisor in the Hombourg-Haut club during the 2019/2020 season and the elimination of AJ Auxerre in the Coupe de France!

It was a magnificent experience. I accompanied a man who became my friend, a human relationship was created. Azad Sanak was the president who had just taken over this modest Regional 3 club. We quickly got hooked and the adventure began to take a certain turn. It is true that at some point we found ourselves short of experience in the football sector because it was not at all his sector of activity.

I had 10 years of experience in the world of football that he did not have and so I became his adviser. We passed the various rounds until this historic feat (note: victory against Auxerre on the score of 2-1) since we are ranked 3rd of the greatest exploits of the Coupe de France with 6 divisions difference! We hoped to show our best side but we never imagined releasing a team like AJ Auxerre. It was a very strong emotion for the president, the players and myself. An emotion that deeply attached me to the region. I was also invited by Marc Keller to attend a match at the Meinau stadium. I’ve always been told about the supercharged atmosphere of the Strasbourg lair, so it’s something I can’t wait to see. We will soon organize this trip on the occasion of an upcoming show-case for my new single “Take everything away” which will be released next March. My first single “Changer” released a few months ago is doing well with 90,000 streams on Spotify and 160,000 views in a month for the music video.

A tour is planned soon I imagine?

A tour is planned yes. The launch will take place at the Casino de Paris, a mythical venue in the capital. It’s a dream come true for me. The dates will arrive soon but this date of October 17, 2022 will mark the starting point of a two-year tour in France and Europe.

You are in Alsace for the next few days, for what reasons?

I will be in Alsace and Moselle to meet partners for the Casino de Paris date. There is a beautiful story that was born with this region. I am keen to renew an adventure like the one I experienced with Hamburg-Haut. We have projects and we are in discussion with several cities and clubs. I really like coming here, there are traditions, values and culture and it’s true that I really like the regions that have managed to keep their culture and their identity.
